Ambitious goals call
for a professional website

Back in 2013, when Global App Testing was founded, the company targeted mainly startup companies. Their website reflected it: rich illustrations, comic-book fonts, and bright colors displayed a friendly, accessible look and attracted small- and mid-sized clients.

But as the company expanded, its ambitions grew bolder. Global App Testing has set a definitive goal of attracting more enterprise-grade businesses. The previous website, friendly as it was, didn't align with this strategic direction.

"We wanted to shift our focus from startups to bigger organizations. The new website needed to reflect that by demonstrating value and a more professional look and feel."

The website had areas for improvement, too. Addressing issues like clashing colors and optimizing layout to hold more content would help make it more accessible and engaging.

The numbers confirmed that. The website successfully attracted a significant amount of visitors, indicating strong interest. However, there was potential to improve conversions.

Recognizing that potential for growth, Global App Testing decided that it was time to give their website a new paint of coat. They envisioned a vibrant new look that would radiate trustworthiness and professionalism, fundamental features for a leading QA services provider.

"We do inbound marketing. Search traffic is the largest known portion of leads:
they won’t convert on an unprofessional website."

Why HubSpot?

Global App Testing have been using HubSpot for their sales and marketing operations for a long time.
HubSpot CMS platform was a logical next step when they decided to redesign the website for three critical reasons.

Closer sales-marketing alignment

With all functionalities and a website on the same platform, marketing can smoothly sync their operations with sales.

Seamless interaction tracking

Centralized data and smart analytics make web interactions easier to record and share through HubSpot for a uniform view of each journey.

Easy contact management

The website is directly connected to the CRM, helping the team to keep the contact database clean and up-to-date and optimize lead scoring.

Why 6Minded?

The next step was to look through the HubSpot partner directory for a provider with strong experience building HubSpot websites.

Decision-makers at Global App Testing were looking for a partner with a proven track record in website design and development and the ability to work on a predefined budget and deadlines.

They focused on agencies with a strong portfolio that met their standards. Additionally, the company didn't need a complete brand overhaul involving a lengthy strategy and research process, so agencies enforcing that step were also eliminated.

Another important factor was flexibility in cooperation. The team wanted a say and participate actively in the redesign project, but most agencies weren't open to that.

For Global App Testing, 6Minded checked all the boxes: we communicated our clear vision of the project, but we didn't impose it, our previous work met the client's standards, and we were flexible in terms of budget, timeline, and the client's part in the project.

"The ultimate reason we signed on with 6Minded was because I had enjoyed the frank way I was able to negotiate with Mat. He was straightforward about the cost and the timelines from the start."

 Design.

Turning client's needs into a shared vision

Typically, we start each project by preparing a strategy document that outlines personas, tone of voice, brand identity, and other characteristics needed to produce content. The case of Global App Testing was different in that they wanted to create website content on their own. With that, we could move right on to the design phase.

Firm requirements, flexible execution

From very early on, our client knew what they wanted in terms of design. They came with a list of website modules they wished to include, websites that inspired them, a logotype, brand colors, and a distinctive grid.

One thing we needed to create from scratch was illustrations. The client was worried their business area would be difficult to depict, so we went for images combining their community-centric approach with process visualizations.

The resulting imagery supplements the website copy and interface screenshots, giving visitors a good idea of the QA service with just a glimpse.

Global App Testing prioritized making it easy to customize their pages after launch.
They wanted to edit and create pages while maintaining a consistent look and functionality.

We suggested four color options for each module to create variety and distinguish between page sections, while preserving a coherent, elegant look. The client's team participated in designing the modules, which helped them understand the tool and make changes independently.

Another specific requirement from the client was to design global and local modules for their blog that were almost identical and differed only in button color. Having this modules, they can merge them in the same blog post while maintaining a clean, consistent look.

Development.
From visual concept to a functional website

Typically, we start each project by preparing a strategy document that outlines personas, tone of voice, brand identity, and other characteristics needed to produce content. The case of Global App Testing was different in that they wanted to create website content on their own. With that, we could move right on to the design phase.

Global App Testing offers a wide range of QA services, and the new website needed to reflect that in a neat and accessible way.
A functional top navigation bar was crucial in meeting this goal.

With even 10+ items displayed simultaneously between several menu sections, switching between them needed to be painless. We coded snappy animations that help make menus easily scannable and pleasant to interact with.

Just like websites, the menus are easy to customize. This way, the client's team can seamlessly add, remove, and edit items as their offering evolves.

The client had very specific requirements when it came to the grid. All page sections across the entire website follow a four-column structure for a clean and elegant look.

To maintain that look for all screen sizes, our designers created four different breakpoints. Usually, only the text size adjusts to the screen size, but in this case, we put in extra effort and made all buttons, form fields, and spacings fully dynamic.

From the development perspective, this meant that the entire layout required pixel-perfect precision. We needed to add a micro-module to each module, but the work paid off: the website looks consistently structured on all screen sizes.
